A Matter of Life
19701 h 5 min 35 secFilm: Fiction, Feature-length fiction
Direction: André Théberge
Production: Laurence Paré
Script: André Théberge
One of a group of fictional feature-length films on social topics by young Québec filmmakers. This is the story of a young Montréal woman who, abandoned by her husband, is working in a clothing factory to support her three children. The combination of circumstances that militate for her final defeat, hospitalization with a mental breakdown, is an indictment of a society that pays little heed to those carrying on a lonely struggle for survival. With English subtitles.
