Co-produced by Tyndal Stone Media and the National Film Board of Canada with the participation of the SaskTel New Media Fund, in partnership with SaskFilm, Government of Canada through the Canadian Studies Program, Department of Canadian Heritage, Telefilm Canada, Saskatchewan Communications Network, Saskatchewan Education, and the Saskatchewan Film Employment Tax Credit Program.
Developed to meet the growing curriculum needs of media literacy courses in North American schools, Between the Lines is a media-rich, interactive learning tool. Its production involved internationally renowned media specialists John Pungente and Neil Andersen. Between the Lines gives students a chance to become producer, director and editor of their own thought-provoking media projects, in 8 different areas, including: television news, public service announcements, newspaper layouts, multimedia campaigns, and music videos. Using the materials provided by the program, students hone their skills by building media projects that they can share with fellow students, or with contacts around the world by using an integrated Internet site. This 2-CD package allows students to learn the nature of mass media, its techniques, and its impact on society.
