An appraisal of the social and economic development of the Mackenzie District, Northwest Territories. The film gives a kaleidoscopic review of the topography, resources, development and settlement of this most northerly Canadian frontier. It depicts the region not as a "harsh, stubborn and silent" land, but as one full of varied activity and opportunity.
