How the western plains of Canada were endowed by nature to become the world's greatest wheat-producing area is told in this story of Canadian wheat production. Animation sequences depict the geological and climatic changes that took place over eons of time to produce the conditions that today favour the growth of top milling and baking quality grain. Present-day sequences show the mechanized wheat farming of the West, the constant research to evolve new and better strains, and the grading and inspection that ensure maintenance of high export standards.
