Set against the beauty and harsh reality of the Interlake region of Manitoba, this is the story of a unique father-and-son relationship. Abel Shizter and his son Billy live and work here, reconditioning old cars for resale. The business transforms young Billy from an innocent into an "operator" who learns the value of capital. A film version of Manitoba author W.D. Valgardson's short story of the same name.
