Coal for Canada

Animated graphs trace the formation of coal, and outline the problems an engineer must confront in sinking mine shafts. The film next pictures the working of a typical undersea mine at Sydney, Nova Scotia. The processes of dynamiting, loading and grading are shown, then the coal is followed to the final phase of its journey by freighter to the centres of industry, where it is vitally needed in many diverse capacities.
