A legend in his own mind, as well as a few other places, Eugene Levy's eyebrows alone deserve a place in the hallowed halls of national treasures. Director Robin Neinstein puts Hollywood hyperbole through a Canadian wringer in an infotainment interview gone horribly wrong. Mr. Levy maintains that he is currently nominated for his third Governor General's Lifetime Achievement Award. "I've got quite a body of work," he says. This is factually correct, even if the story about Adrienne Clarkson at his barbecue is not. Although Eugene Levy isn't actually receiving a third Lifetime Achievement Award, he still deserves serious kudos for his work. From Stan Schmenge of the world famous Schmenge Brothers, to memorable turns in the oeuvre of Christopher Guest (Waiting for Guffman and A Mighty Wind among others), Mr. Levy has created some of the most sweetly bizarre characters to ever emerge from the Great White North. Despite his international success, Eugene Levy remains distinctly Canadian, committed to supporting home-grown talent, and to fostering the growth of the Canadian film industry. About receiving his nation’s highest honour, he says, "Think how great an honour it would be if it was the third time, but here's hoping."
