Au loin, sur une île, une jeune femme au visage disgracieux écrit des romans à succès... Pendant ce temps, sa soeur Marie, son unique compagne, veille à leurs besoins quotidiens. Un beau jour, elles reçoivent la visite d'un étranger qui vient rompre l'harmonie de leur solitude à deux... Sur le ton de la nouvelle, cette saisissante étude de caractère nous transporte dans un univers trouble où la dépendance prend plusieurs visages. Film d'animation réalisé par mode de gravure sur pellicule 70 mm teintée, puis tourné au banc-titre.
