The Fireman Is a Grocer: In Nova Scotia, the Kentville Fire Department provides first-rate protection and keeps fires to a minimum with its voluntary brigade composed entirely of local citizens. Artistry in Clay and Cloth: Jarko Zaavi, a Czechoslovakian skilled in ceramics, designs objects of art made from Canadian clay. In Montréal, a group of artists creates novel effects on yard goods with silk screens and colourful dyes. Winter Morning: On a Saskatchewan farm the whole household is astir long before the city dweller comes to life. The Wiebe farm is no exception as cattle are fed and milked, children drive off to school and a pig goes to market, all before nine o'clock.
