An ordinary Dutch citizen, Pieter van Dongen, a member of the underground in Holland, has communicated by secret radio with British authorities, who have sent an Royal Air Force squadron to bomb an important railroad centre nearby. As he waits to flash his signal to the bombers, he thinks of the Netherlands and its Empire as it was before World War II. The defense of Dutch resources is shown.
