OXFAM-Québec sponsored a desalination project in the hard-pressed Haitian village of Grande Saline, where the lack of clean drinking water is the main cause of disease. Local resources--the ample saltwater of the Artibonite and the volunteer labour of a motivated community--are the formula for success.
