Immersion is first-time filmmaker Megann Reid's
intimate and personal experience of the solitude and warmth in a bath. Drawn
with watercolour pencil crayons on frosted acetate, the animation was done
under a digital camera and made to move in After Effects. The drawings were
layered, with a sheet of clear acetate on top upon which was poured the 'honey
bubble love.'
This
animated short was made for Hothouse 2, the NFB’s program for emerging
filmmakers, whose central theme was
“Water and Our Relationship to It.”.Technique:
