A film designed to impress upon Canadians travelling abroad the necessity of knowing and complying with the laws of each country visited. A number of incidents are cited where Canadians found themselves in difficulty in various places - eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America - through ignorance of regulations, particularly those pertaining to customs. Instances where Canada's Department of External Affairs was able to intercede on behalf of Canadian citizens are also described.
