An account of the scientific exploration made by the Arctic patrol vessel H.M.C.S. Labrador in Canada's far north. Hydrographers, oceanographers and frogmen are seen probing the secrets of uncharted waters with electronic equipment, gathering information vital to the development of this vast polar region. The film also shows the Labrador's helicopters airlifting supplies to Distant Early Warning (DEW) stations near Foxe Basin.
