It's the Fashion!

195111 minFilm: Documentary

Direction: Ronald Weyman

Production: Sydney Newman

A behind-the-scenes review of the keen, competitive clothing industry. The film contrasts the streamlined fashions of today with the inhibiting costumes of the early twentieth century. A sequence in a textile mill shows the chemical formation of synthetic fibres and the acres of high-speed looms that weave them into attractive yard goods. Several stages are seen of the creation, by one of Canada's top dress designers, of an original model for exhibition at a spring fashion show.
