This compelling drama is based on the true events surrounding the brutal deaths of a New Jersey couple and the subsequent trial of their son Scott Franz and his eighteen-year-old friend, Nova Scotia native Bruce Curtis. In the hands of the authorities, Bruce becomes entangled in a complex web of legal incompetence, political ambition, and damaging media coverage. To make matters worse, Scott pleads guilty and agrees to testify against Bruce. The story is shocking on every level: from the horrible murders, to a friend's betrayal, from the flawed trial to the extraordinary way an ordinary life can spin desperately out of control.
