Dreamed under the million stars of a clear prairie night, Life After Hockey is the weird and wonderful story of Ken "Rink Rat" Brown and his obsession with our national sport. It is also a magical tribute to our champions--real and imagined--who each play a part in the Rat's great fantasy. Rocket Richard, the legendary hero of the greatest Montreal Canadiens dynasty, one day mysteriously appears at the Rat's local rink. Kurt Browning, world figure skating champion, leaps his impossible leaps through the Rat's extraordinary imagination. Glen Sather, coach of Team Canada's heart-stopping overtime victory against the Russians in 1984, masterminds the Rat's miraculous appearance in one of the greatest games ever played. And finally there is "Rink Rat" himself, who holds the all-time record for most imaginary goals never scored... until his country needs him.
