Sulanca, the trade of cheap garments made from fabric remnants, has transformed the lives of the inhabitants of Santa Cruz, a small town in impoverished northeastern Brazil. Made in Brazil is the story of the women of Santa Cruz, who, through their own efforts, have been able to improve the standard of living of their families, and to take greater control of their own lives.
