Anna lives in St. John's, Newfoundland, with her four brothers and sisters. Allanah lives in Montreal with her mother. When the two switch places for a week, they discover the pros and cons of sharing, being on one's own and the importance of their own family. They also discover a new city and a way of life distinct from their own.
