Northwest Frontier

Through the immense expanse of Canada's Northwest Territories winds the great Mackenzie, an open river highway down which settlement and development have moved into the north. The film covers significant aspects of the great Northwest--the old fur trade, new mining developments--the importance of church missions, the welfare of Indigenous Peoples, and the role of air transport in drawing this huge territory into the mainstream of Canadian life.
