"Operation Cue" was the name given to the 1955 Nevada test, designed to explore the effects of small nuclear weapons upon buildings, towers, and equipment of many kinds. In this test, many of the structures damaged by the thirty kiloton bomb were approximately one mile from "ground zero." "Operation Cue" was valuable for research and test purposes, but it does not reflect the full severity of today's larger thermonuclear weapons with their associated fallout hazard.
