A live-action video documenting the story of Crystal Barter, the fourteen-year-old daughter of a British Columbia horse logger. Crystal has chosen horse logging as a part-time occupation to raise enough money to buy a saddle for her horse. Horse logging is hard work but it allows Crystal to remain in the environment she so loves--the forests of the interior of British Columbia. Together with her father, Crystal logs the forest selectively to preserve the woodland and its ecosystems. Crystal's story exemplifies the concept of sustainable development at a very human level.
