Produced by the National Film Board of Canada for the Canadian Department of National Health and Welfare.

Designed for civil defense rescue, this film demonstrates five stages of rescue in removing trapped or injured persons from a building damaged by bomb blast. It describes the functions of different members of a rescue party: local warden, damage-control officer, rescue leader, deputy and crew. We see how a systematic search is organized to locate and extricate casualties from fallen debris. Emphasis is placed on accurate recording and checking of information so that no trapped persons are overlooked.
