Return of the Buffalo
193210 minFilm: Documentary
Produced by the Canadian Government Motion Picture Bureau for the National Parks Service.
How the buffalo, once king of the western plains, was almost exterminated, and how the herds have come back in the sanctuary of Canada's National Parks. Once the shaggy monsters roamed freely over the prairie - until Indigenous Peoples arrived with their arrows. Even more deadly were the bullets of the white settler - and the ruthless hunter. The buffalo could scarcely be found outside the pages of a picture book. But, protected by law, the buffalo has returned. Once more he is a mighty monarch of the plains.
