A visit to Sable Island, the mile-wide crescent of sand off the Nova Scotia coast, which for centuries has reaped a grim harvest of doomed and broken ships. Even for reporter Fred Davis, the island's "ghosts" come to life as he makes a tour on foot to visit some of the residents who run the weather and signal stations. The lighthouse keeper shows him the great lamp whose beams now warn approaching ships of this "graveyard of the Atlantic."
