Since his hospitalization thirteen years ago, this patient has shifted from the catatonic to the hebephrenic type of schizophrenia, characterized by incoherent speech, disorganized ideas and dishevelled appearance. Dr. Heinz Lehmann holds up an old photograph of the patient in order to elicit his reaction.
