Shanaditti, who died in St. John's in 1829, is thought to have been the last of a group of Indignenous People called the Beothuks. Their extinction casts a shadow on Newfoundland history. Along with a self-taught archaeologist, Newfoundland poet Al Pittman explores the sites once inhabited by these tragic people, hoping to find some clues to their disappearance.
