Near the edge of a vast frozen lake in the heart of the Canadian Shield, Manitoba artist Réal Bérard and two friends slowly transform an immense block of snow into a beautiful snow sculpture. A poetic, quasi-mystical film, this documentary, almost completely without words, explores the relationship between humans and nature and implies that the quintessence of any work of art lies not in its value as a lasting object, but rather in its value as a product of the creative process.
