The consistent domination of Eastern European athletes in international competition has prompted all nations to reexamine the priorities, methods and capacities of their sports system. This film focuses on several coaches and athletes from Soviet bloc countries who are now living in Canada. Their experiences in both socialist and Canadian systems will help audiences to more fully appreciate the political, social and cultural influences at work in international sports competition.
