A full-fledged police officer, Hervé is on his first assignment, which turns out to be escorting and guarding a seventeen-year-old girl who has repeatedly run away from her orphanage home. Delayed at the train station on Christmas Eve, they talk together until the train arrives. Hervé is torn between the responsibility of his position and the attachment he has formed.
