What happens to our treasured belongings when we die or when we no longer feel attached to them? Antique dealer Peter Kaye helps people liquidate their furniture, dinnerware, old telephones and military helmets. In the process, he witnesses traces of the lives and joys of familes over several generations, represented by what's left behind. Dennis's toy castle, for instance, holds some of his fondest childhood memories when he'd helped his father build a castle. Today, the middle-age man feels ready to pass on a remnant of his wonderful past into somebody else's hands. The Memory Merchant is a heartwarming and thoughtful tale about the importance of memory in relation to our own mortality.
