The Sands

200910 minFilm: Documentary

Direction: David Geiss

A disturbingly picturesque, short documentary poem that juxtaposes contrasting images of untouched sections of forest, gutted parts of the prairie landscape, and people in various states, roles, and positions, all ultimately framing the large scale industrial oilsands development in northern Alberta as an omnipresent force that cannot be ignored. Produced with the assistance of the NFB’s FAP program.
