David has been a welfare child since he was five, when his alcoholic mother handed him over to the system because she couldn't cope. He has a history of bolting from foster homes to search for his mother. We meet him as a street-smart kid of ten as he encounters a sympathetic businesswoman. One of a series of six short dramatic discussion starters for adolescents and adults on the subject of teenage alienation.
