Werner Nold, Filmmaker-Editor

20031 h 22 min 2 secFilm: Documentary

Direction: Jean-Pierre Masse

Script: Jean-Pierre Masse

Produced by le Conifère têtu with the collaboration of the Office national du film du Canada - Programme Aide au Cinéma indépendant Canada (ACIC) - Direction Monique Létourneau - Coordination Marie-Christine Guité, and with the contribution of the Comité de recherche et de création du Département des communications de l'UQAM.

Through conversations with director colleagues and excerpts from films that benefited from his innovative talent, Werner Nold helps to reveal the largely unrecognized art of film editing. Nold also discusses direct cinema, an influential movement to which he contributed from 1961 to 1996 and which helped to shape the particular identity of the National Film Board of Canada. This warm and humorous film underscores one man's passion for cinema. In French with English subtitles.
