The Wish

A charming study of childhood, of two flaxen-haired eight-year-old girls, identical twins, at their grandparents' lakeside country place. Their father, the filmmaker, decided to shoot this film of them at an age when they were beginning to explore their family background. The film is an expression of his wish that, even when they do not live with him any more, they can inherit his family roots.
