The Arctic is undergoing unprecedented change. Scientific data indicates this; those who live there attest to it. This new reality is cause for concern—but also for hope.

Touch the ice sculpture. It evokes the Arctic lands being swept away by disruptive forces. The images that rise to its surface tell of the diversity of landscapes and living things inhabiting our northern regions. This is a world that draws deeply on its past to better light the way to its future.

Beyond Ice is an original creation from the National Film Board of Canada in partnership with the Canadian Museum of Nature.
