2006Interactive: Web Experience
By: Catherine Anne Martin
Production: Annette ClarkePattie LaCroix
The Binging Annie Mae Home Website was designed to create a resource for groups and individuals committed to social justice, women's rights and Indigenous issues. It provides a link to the 2002 documentary The Spirit of Annie Mae and continues the story surrounding the life and murder of activist Annie Mae Pictou Aquash. The site features the on-going work of Annie Mae's family, and her daughters in particular, in bringing their mother's murderers to justice - nearly thirty years after her death. It includes footage with Annie Mae's daughters and other activists as well as a variety of community and media links intending to demonstrate the chronology and impact of activism over time and generations.
