Several crises face the plight of young people in First Nations communities, including remote isolation, multiple suicide attempts and access to clean drinking water. In the wake of this, for the first time ever, a sitting Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, will join a VICE Canada film crew for a visit to Shoal Lake 40, a community severed from the nearest city — Winnipeg — by the pressing lack of a road. Produced in partnership with VICE and the CFC Media Lab, Cut-Off is a 360 and interactive application virtual reality experience meant to evoke a new level of empathy for this devastating and complex scenario.
