Fire is an essay by photographer Aaron Vincent Elkaim. The images embody a very personal loss for him. Three years ago, on the day after Thanksgiving, his grandparent’s cottage caught fire and was seriously damaged. He was the only family member nearby and so was the first one on the scene. The photos were taken the next day.
