Production: Jeremy MendesRobert McLaughlin
Interactive Studio (Vancouver).
In this artistic performance by artist Kevin Schmidt, hydro-electricity is generated using a modified washing machine placed right in a creek on the edge of a burnt out clear cut. The electricity generated is used to power a modular synthesizer and light show that performs autonomously. In the work Schmidt plays with many themes including the notion wilderness, natural resources, the absence of audience, the internet, DIY culture and artistic performance.
