Label Free Zone (Web Site)/Zone sans étiquettes (Site Web)

2009Interactive: Web Experience

By: Josée Boulanger

Production: Joe MacDonald

Label Free Zone is a web site created by people who have been labelled with an intellectual disability. It is a space that challenges attitudes that exclude and isolate, and where individuals can exchange their opinions and stories with the rest of the world. People First of Canada, a self-advocacy movement, have been, and continue to be, involved as consultants on the site. Label Free Zone places media in the hands of one of the most under-represented populations in Canada and allows them to be heard.
