Letter to Vincent (Site Web)
2010~ 10 minInteractive: Web Experience
By: Éric Godin
Production: Hugues Sweeney
Produced by the National Film Board of Canada in partnership with the Journal Le Devoir.
In memory of his son Vincent, who took his own life on December 14, 2009, illustrator Éric Godin together with the artist Zilon created the interactive online project Letter to Vincent. Moved by the suffering of his friend, Zilon persuaded Godin to write about the experience of losing his son. The resulting audio/video essay in narrated by Godin and includes some fifty ink wash drawings and an original soundscape by Zilon. Plunging viewers into the heart-rending emotions of grieving father, this project expresses in words and images the unthinkable, unacceptable fact of a teenager’s suicide.
