École Étienne-Brûlé is a French-speaking island in a sea of English speakers. This high school just outside Toronto offers classes entirely in French to a few hundred students, many of whom are recent immigrants. For them, school isn't simply a place to learn. It's also their home away from home. It's their first step toward integrating into Canadian society.
