Produced by Shining Mountains Film Production Ltd. in co-production with the National Film Board of Canada, in association with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, History Television, National Film Board of Canada, National Geographic Canada, with the participation of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Banff Centre, the CanWest Western Independent Producers Fund, and the Canadian Television Fund created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry.

Filmmaker Guy Clarkson completes his mountain odyssey with a search for solutions. He discovers an optimism born of a profound understanding of what makes Nature tick. He finds business, government, and local residents joining forces to ensure that the grizzly, the wolf and the caribou remain at home on their range. He catches up with a broad cross-section of mountain people who are getting political to push their vision of a Once and Future Wild. Clarkson investigates a coalition of passionate individuals and organizations known as 'Y2Y'--the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative. Their aim--to connect wildlife corridors through half a million square miles, with the full participation of stakeholders in industry. From visits with old-time mountain man Andy Russell, to a Kaska-Dene youngster heading out on his first moose hunt, Clarkson takes heart in the wisdom of those who know best what it means to live in harmony with Nature.
