Summer 2001, Andréa and Cléola Léger travel to Guatemala seeking traces of their brother Raoul, a Canadian lay missionary murdered in 1981 by the Guatemalan army. There they discover the warmth and the misery of a people still haunted by the horrors of a 35-year-long civil war. Overcome by the moving testimony of those close to Raoul, his sisters seek to learn the exact circumstances of his assassination--and they begin to appreciate the depth of his commitment to revolution. The truth remains complex and elusive, however, as they encounter contradictory stories, political imbroglios and military plots. This documentary shows that only one thing is certain: Raoul Léger was completely committed to the cause of the Mayas.
