Eritrea

This series provides an in-depth look at vital issues being faced today by Eritrea, a country strategically located on the Suez Canal. Not only has Eritrea been severely affected by the famines in Ethiopia, it has, as well, been waging a war of independence from Ethiopia for over twenty-five years. The major issues explored in these films are common to most Third World countries. The series challenges us to think about hunger in the world, the struggle to improve health and increase life expectancy, militarization and the desire for peace, human rights, models of development, self-sufficiency and international aid.
